i4D - Illustrations for Development
Here is a selection of illustrations I have made for use in health and development projects and publications. I have been extensively involved in work with pictorial materials for communication over many years. On my first visit to India in 1981, (to accompany a touring exhibition of my arts graphics, organised by the British Council) I came to learn that simple images can play an important role in health and development education. Since that time, I have continued, whenever possible, to work on projects involving the production and use of graphics for communication about social and environmental issues.Images for Unicef about Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

Here are some of the publications produced by Unicef which use the illustrations I made. Firstly, there is a printed collection of the images. The illustrations can be removed from the book so that they can be used in a classroom or group setting. Secondly, there is a very useful Teachers' Guide, which presents many ideas and suggestions about how the images can be used. Thirdly, a presentation I was asked to create about the local production and use of illustrations for WASH activities.
